I just got back from a week spent with the family for Thanksgiving. Why is it that spending time with family can be the most stressful of times? I love my family and due to my parents getting up in age I am moving so I can live closer to them BUT I am not used to the endless stream of questions that come when I am home for a few days. I am an independent person so I am out of my comfort zone when I am with a bunch of people at all times.
I haven't been able to get into the float tank or even be still in almost a week and I notice that the moments of awareness have lessened a bit. There were some debates with family when I noticed that I was getting agitated. I was able to take a step back and realize that I was reacting to a situation. I have been very conscientious not to react to things but to think and become aware, then to act on things. It is a growing process and I am so excited that becoming awake is the path that I am on.
All that being said I really enjoyed my time home. The food was fantastic. I ate way too much, watched way too much football and took far too many naps. Isn't that what Thanksgiving with family is all about? I say yes.
Food for thought. Check these two articles out.
This happens to all of us. Sometimes we believe that there is no hope and that we have stopped living our life the way we should be living. But finding a ray of hope out of darkness is how we must live.
