Our Ultimate Goal

I have been thinking about what our ultimate goal is as people.  Is it to be rich?  Is it to be healthy?  Is it to be fit?  Is it to be happy?  It seems like happiness is the right answer.  Happiness is really what we all want.  I think that it goes further than that though.  We can say to ourselves "I am happy" and have a great outlook on our life.  But are we still happy if we find ourselves in an awkward social situation or if we are dealing with a tough problem at work?  I think for the average person happiness is only experienced at certain times.  Don't get me wrong some folks are more happy than others.  I am talking about in general, happiness comes and goes.  So in other words happiness is a by-product of something more.

What is that something more?  I think it is along the lines of Absolute confidence.  Being completely self assured.  Believing that in any situation you will say or do the right thing.  Where you will always rise to any level necessary.  I know that all people make mistakes.  All people have struggles in life.  The successful ones act at a high level more often.  It is being in the Zone, to use a sports phrase.  We all have had moments where everything we said or did in that particular time seemed to be perfect.  Whether it was a ten minute stretch in a pick up basketball game or talking to a pretty girl at a bar.  You were on fire.  Is it possible to achieve that level of Confidence and self-absurdness all the time or even most of the time?  I think it is.  That should be Our Ultimate Goal.  It is mine.
